Green - A Color Much Bigger than St Paddy's Day
St Paddy's day is often filled with all sorts of tacky kelly green items. While it may turn you off the color forever, green really is one of the hottest colors of the season. From pistachio to neon green, we've seen just about every shade of the hue pop up as the next "it shade" -- and as someone who grew up loving every part of green, I'm definitely not complaining.
There's something about the color that just embodies spring, the weather turning, and the beginning of earth blooming. It may seem like an intimidating color to adopt, but it's actually quite versatile to work into your beauty routine, wardrobe, or home. Here's inspiration for all things green.
Nobody does a colored eye like makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes. She breaks down how to recreate colorful eyes on her Instagram stories daily. She's the first person to truly inspire me to take a step out of my comfort zone make-up wise and she's definitely worth an Instagram follow.
Since eyes are all you see a majority of the time being masked up, I vow to make the most of them this spring and summer. A swipe of green liner should do the trick -- shop my favorite affordable option here.
Nude nails with anything but minimal accents -- this is my new favorite type of manicure. The multi-color green tip is just enough to make it feel bold and flirty while still being neutral.
Rosie Huntington Whitely is perfect for inspiration for... just about anything. While a neon swipe of eyeliner or a spring green eye may not be for everyone, this luxurious greenish-gold metallic eye actually is. I can't wait to try it out.
I've never been tempted to try out a minty green eye with matching earrings.. but consider me completely inspired and ready to try. This mod-inspired makeup still feels completely fresh and modern. Get the look with similar earrings like these.
Nobody makes neon green look as chic as The Attico. Yeah you could go small with a pair of their sexy strappy green heels... or you could go for the whole damn neon green package.
Because the post-pandemic transition from sweats every day is going to be difficult. To fill the space, I'm reaching for put-together ribbed separates like this melon-colored Simon Miller set in the meantime.
As a New Yorker, I'm always drawn to my safety net of black clothes. But after this past year as I slowly come out of winter, I vow to start dressing in clothes that make me feel like spring sunshine and I'm going to start with this Faithfull dress (and maybe a Gucci bucket hat).
These Balenciaga neon heels are nothing short of a dream. I love the casual street style influence to an otherwise feminine pump. These are a pair of statement shoes I'm ready to have in my closet ASAP.
Because I cannot wait to be back in a little party dress. An oversized ruffle, a luxurious flirty green, and a silky mini -- this is the dress I am going to break out of my post-pandemic blues with. Now, who's going to join me?
Knits, shells, and pearls, oh my! This marled sweater dress with pearl straps has me prematurely planning a warm-weather getaway. It's feminine yet sexy -- everything I want to embody in the spring.
I'm a self-identified maximalist and I've spent the last year trying to hone my interior style. Because I live in a rental I'm all for the transformative power of a coat of paint... never have I ever contemplated painting my ceilings kelly green but this sure has me contemplating it.
Colored glassware is a personal weakness of mine and nobody does it better than Estelle Glassware. Their modern take on colored handblown glass will brighten any kitchen plus they're an awesome Black woman-owned business to support.
There's something perfectly vintage yet modern about green tiles. I love how they are reimagined in this minimal space as a floating shelf. From Willow also has those tile cube side tables you haven't been able to escape from Instagram in an assortment of drool-worthy colors.
I just painted one of my walls this same citrine/lime hue and it really does improve my mood waking up to it. While I may not be going for these bright tonal cabinets anytime soon, I appreciate a pop of citrine like I never have before.
I'll never say no to a DIY so when I found this beautiful green lush velvet headboard made of POOL NOODLES... I was immediately impressed and intrigued. Instructions here for anybody looking to copy this chic piece.
Hopefully this round-up of green inspiration has you ready to say YES to the color of the year... I know I am.
