LIGHTEN THE PALETTE WITH OUR SPRING APPROVED SPIRITS

LIGHTEN THE PALETTE WITH OUR SPRING APPROVED SPIRITS

Happy Monday Lovelies!

One of my life pleasures is pairing spirits to individuals and pairing spirits to each seasonal change. Dry finishes, fruit palettes, and lighter flavors -- spring is finally here. When this lighter weather starts to hit, my drink-of-choice instinctively changes. I have some favorites to share with you as well as having discovered some new delights.

DOMAINE DE BENDEL ROSE

Dry and Light, this is such a beautiful Rose and my absolute favorite.  A perfect drink when wanting to enjoy lunch without feeling too intoxicated or just popping open on a hot sunny afternoon. Easy to drink and incredibly affordable, I definitely recommend buying a few at a time for this will be consumed quickly.

LA MARCA PROSECCO

One of the loveliest Prosecco's or Sparkling Wines, this is one that is easily overlooked. I am incredibly particular with my bubblies and this can hold its own against higher end competition. Crisp and ready to party, this Prosecco is just deliciously perfect.

LUDLOW ELDERFLOWER, CAMOMILE & LEMON VERBENA

This is pure Spring.  With elderflower and chamomile flavors, citrus covers your palette with this gorgeous gin.  One of my favorite ways to drink Gin is with the juice of one grapefruit, a splash of soda and twist of lime. I will meet you poolside with that one!

BRENNE SINGLE MALT WHISKEY

There are not many whiskies that I would describe as "Feminine and Light" but this is it.  This French whiskey is created by Allison Parc, a woman gaining recognition in the world of whiskey. This whiskey is all Spring and Summer, with notes of florals and fruits. It just excludes femininity. This is a great spirit to introduce to a new whiskey drinker, put on ice, sip and enjoy.

LA GRITONA REPOSADO TEQUILA

Women-owned and delicious as hell, what else do you need from a tequila? Melly Barajas distills this blue agave tequila in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.  These gorgeous bottles are hand blown with recycled Mexican glass and are meant to display. This Tequila so good you don't need the salt, lime, ice, or mixers (which, by the way, how they recommend drinking it).

Spicy Cucumber Margarita

Tequila, lime juice, cucumbers, jalapeños, and a kick of ginger beer. It's a little bit spicy, a little bit sweet, and totally refreshing. The ingredients for this margarita are fresh yet minimal so you can whip it up on short notice. For extra oomph, finish it off with a salty chili rim.

Strawberry Chamomile Paloma

Fruity flavor, a little fizz, and a bit of tequila -- everything you want in a drink. This easy-to-make cocktail swaps the traditional grapefruit of a Paloma for strawberries and adds a bit of chamomile honey tea. The flavors are fresh and light so it's perfect for spring.

BELL'S FLAMINGO FRUIT LIGHT

Flamingo Fruit Fight from Bell's Brewery packs a punch with a taste of passionfruit and lime tart ale. With its full acidity flavor, Fruit Flight will definitely be one you reach for on sunny days.

SOUL SOUR

Sometimes you want a refreshing beer without the alcohol content -- enter Soul Sour. It's a collaboration between Beer Kulture and Athletic Brewing Co. It incorporates lemon, blueberry, and mango for a vibrant taste so you won't even miss the ABV.
